It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris A Shonka (David City, Nebraska), who passed away on January 4, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Ernie Shonka Jr.; her son Kenny; her parents, Louis Malovec and Frances Malovec; her siblings, Don Malovec and Janet Malovec; and her brothers-in-law, Willie Shonka, Mike Birkel, Tony Stuhr and Jimmy Chmelka.
She is survived by: her children, Shelby of Nebraska, Surprise of Nebraska, Keith (Karen), Dave (Renee), Gregg (Amy), Lincoln, Chris (Veronica) of Fort Collins, CO, Kathy Beran (Mike) and Sherri Suelter (Jason); and her sisters-in-law, Marilyn Chemelka, Betty Wellman (Alvin), Delores Stuhr and Aggie Shonka. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family has requested that IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, PLANTS, and STATUES, memorials be directed to Aquinas Guardian Angel Fund, Immaculate Conception Church, or Sisters of the Diocese of Lincoln.
