He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Wetzel and Terese Wetzel (Gravel); and his brother Tim Wetzel. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Sellmeyer; his children, Justin Wetzel (Bobbi) of Dannebrog, Nolan Wetzel of Dannebrog, Taylor Wetzel (Connor Donscheski) of Cairo and John Wetzel (Kristi) of Cairo; his grandchildren, William, Mackenzie, Hazel, Waylon and Claycee; his siblings, Mike Wetzel (Dianne Danhauer) of Dannebrog, Craig Wetzel (Deon) of Dannebrog and Tammy Mamot (Daron) of St. Libory; his sister-in-law Sadie Wetzel of Cairo; his friend Jennifer Sellmeyer of Boelus; and his nieces and nephews, Shane Wetzel (Brianna Hansen), Cheyenna Stenhouse (Keiotey), Audrie Robinson (Tylor), Karlie Santin (Brad), Hayse Wetzel, Racole Wetzel, Roper Wetzel, Makayla Smith (Will), Cody Wetzel (Cydney), Brady Wetzel and Lindsay Wetzel (Dion Fecht).
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Community Center (303 Said St, Cairo, NE 68824). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery (15143 W White Cloud Rd, Cairo, NE 68824).
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
