It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Jane Ernest of Dalton, Nebraska, who passed away on December 25, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eleanor Jane Ernest to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willis F. Beyer and Sylvia M. Beyer (Bayne); her husband Robert James Ernest of Mary's Catholic Church; her grandsons, Christopher Ahlm and Shane Ernest; her children-in-law, Pamela Ernest and Rodney Ahlm; her brothers, Lawrence Beyer (Jean), Willis Beyer, John Beyer, Robert Beyer (Patricia), Fred Beyer (Sheila) and Clifford Beyer; and her in-laws, Richard Ernest (Phyllis), Dominic Ernest (Phyllis), Mary Lou Richards (James), Raymond Ernest (Lyla), Patrick Ernest, Cecilia Anderson (Paul) and Dorothy Fehringer (Albert).
She is survived by: her children, Greg Ernest (Barb), Brenda Ahlm, Barb Quinn (Ivan Johnson), Bruce Ernest (Jenn), Nancy Wagoner (Mark), Colleen Cruise (John) and Cindy Reilly (Earl); her sister Rita Rains (Skeeter); her sisters-in-law, Carol Beyer and Peggy Ernest; and her friend Sue Tvrs. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel (1140 10th Ave, Sidney, NE 69162). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church - Dalton (718 Francis St, Dalton, NE 69131).
Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dalton Fire Department or Mintken-Davison American Legion Post #301 – Sons of the American Legion.
