He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Turpen and Katherine Turpen (Heinert); his granddaughter Jennah Turpen; his siblings, Caroline Heffernen (Donald), Leo R. Turpen and LeRoy Turpen; and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Waters and Sherry Turpen.
He is survived by: his wife June Turpen of Dakota City; his children, Angela Johnson (Shane), Robert Turpen, Jr. of Sioux City and Michael Turpen (Kari) of Jefferson; his siblings, Adam Turpen of Riverton, Eva Waters of Santa Rosa and Leonard Turpen of Layton, Utah; his grandson Dakotah Turpen of Sioux City; and his stepgrandchildren, Abbigail Bailey and Nolan Bailey of McCook Lake. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
