He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. McDonald and Patricia A. McDonald (Pregler); and his brother Johnny "Mac" McDonald. He is survived by: his former wife Debora Cooper; his wife Cheryl Newton of Sergeant Bluff; his sons, Shawn (Ann) of Dakota City and Seth (Kayla) of Sioux City; his brothers, Rod (Emily) of Fairborn, OH and David (Kitty) of Louisa, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Jayda, Delia, Kayden, Britton, Gaige and Vivian.
