He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Arnold, Bobbie Bartels, Charles and Margaret Fyfe; his sister-in-law Ashly Carter; and his grandmother-in-law Stuart Heikes.
He is survived by: his parents, Bill Bartels and Margaret Bartels (Fyfe) of Yankton, SD; his wife Shandi Marie Heikes of Crofton; his stepchild Payton of Norfolk; his children, Paxton of Crofton, Porter of Crofton and Princeton of Crofton; and his siblings, Nicola Raine of Yankton, SD, Kristi Bartels of Omaha, NE and Kari Randle (Gerald) of Yankton, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
