He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Mae (Mashek); his siblings, Alice Patak, Mary Schwedop, Agnes Plautz, Bessie Henderson, Sylvia Nygaard, Anton Patak and Joe Patak; and his parents, Thomas Patak and Marie Patak (Krenek).

He is survived by: his children, Richard Patak (Debbie) of Burr Oak, KS, Jeani Larsen (Alan) of Lincoln, NE, Steve Patak (Theresa) of Loveland, CO and Mike Patak (Amber Brush) of Elkhorn, NE.. He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
