He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Schlote and Myrtle Schlote (Nelson); his wife Jeanette A. Bowers of John's Lutheran Church; and his siblings, Norma Kumm, Marilyn Schlote and Dean Schlote.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Schlote (Tammie) of Creighton, Merlin Schlote (Pam) of Battle Creek, Mylon Schlote (Carolyn) of Tilden and Marci Huether (Tony) of Rapid City, SD; and his sister Donna Tyler of Creighton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
