We are sad to announce that on August 27, 2022, at the age of 89, Verna Lee Story Moritz of Cozad, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruby M. Gutschow (Stoltnow) and Leslie C. Gutschow; her stepfather Clifton Rutledge; her husbands, Bernell Story and Kenneth Moritz; her son Jay Brent; her siblings, Clayton, Donald Gutschow, Virginia Hanson, Jeanette Andre', Janice Strickland and Donna Smock; her brothers-in-law, Edward Hanson, Rex L. Strickland, Ervin Smock and Cecil Wempen; and her stepbrother Dwayne Rutledge (Jean).
She is survived by: her son Jerry Story (Raija); her stepchildren, John Moritz (Donna) and Karen Moritz; her sister-in-law Donna Lehman; her stepsiblings, Beverly Wempen, Ruby Swartz and Robert Rutledge; her grandchildren, Patrick, Erika Story, Aisa Carpenter, Summer Gray and Andre Denker; and her stepgrandchildren, Faith, David, Sean, Corbin and Amanda Moritz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
