He was predeceased by: his siblings, Keith Smidt, Maynard Smidt and Farrell Reier. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Smidt of Cozad; and his children, Steve (Judy) of Kansas, Michael (Brenda) of Lincoln, Randy (Bobbi) of North Platte and Shelly Knobel (Tom) of Texas. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
