She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Daniel Scholl and Elizabeth Scholl (Eckel); her parents-in-law, Andrew and Martha; her husband Merle Henry Johns; her sister-in-law Irma (Al Runyon); her brothers, Ludwig (Helen), William (Dorothy), Karl (Elizabeth) and Paul; and her son-in-law Donald Rehner.

She is survived by: her children, Mark (Lynda), Danette and Scott (Lisa); and her stepgranddaughter Amy Elmore (Whitney).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be brought to the service or sent to one of Erna's children.
