He was predeceased by: his brother Dan; and his parents, Pat Bernt and Esther Bernt (Fischer). He is survived by: his daughters, Danielle and Meghan; and his siblings, Patricia, Jim, Bob and Scott.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the McKown Funeral Home (2922 13th St, Columbus, NE 68601). A vigil service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 5:00 PM and on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1565 18th Ave, Columbus, NE 68601).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Simon House.
