He was predeceased by: his parents, John Redel and Delores Redel (Meyer); and his brothers, Stanley (Butch), Gary (Fizz) and Dennis.

He is survived by: his wife Katherine Jacobsen of Columbus; his children, Traci Dengler (David) of Centerville, VA and Travis Redel of Boston, MA; and his grandchildren, Emma, Jack and Carter. He is also survived by Sister: Leila Braesch Many nieces and nephews.
