He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Grasso; and his children, Anthony Spenner and Margaret Minchow. He is survived by: his siblings, Bernard Spenner (Pam) of Georgetown, TX and Martha Kluthe of Grand Island, NE; his children, Carl Spenner (Debbie) of Bennington, NE, Anne Spenner (Keith Hastings) of St. Charles, IL, Patricia Baker (Scott Baker) and Joseph Spenner (Debbie Lordeman) of Tucson, AZ; and his grandchildren, Brooke Cohen, Dr. Elliott Spenner, Chelsea Spenner, Phillip Spenner, Kaemon Hastings, Karson Hastings, Lauren Baker, Kristen Baker, Noel Minchow, Nathan Minchow and Olivia Minchow. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 9:00 AM at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1565 18th Ave, Columbus, NE 68601). A vigil service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
