He was predeceased by: his sister MaryAnn George; and his parents-in-law, Henry and Amanda Schenewerk. He is survived by: his brother Charles Burger; and his children, Donna Garrison (Steve), Vicky Sand (Gordon), Judy Kontor (Keith) and Robert Burger (Carrie Drinkwine).

In lieu of plants/flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the family for a designated cause to be determined at a later date.
