He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Cahill and Wilma Cahill (Divis); his siblings, Mary Kay Cahill, Ellen Mulligan and Daniel Cahill; and his great grandchildren, Gavin, Cole and Casey.

He is survived by : his former life partner Katherine A. Koci; his wife Kathy of Clarkson, NE; his children, Tony Cahill (Susan) of Clarkson, NE, Denise Seid (Kerry) of Cheyenne, WY, Mary Kay Reichmuth (Pete) of Leigh, NE and Gerald Jr. Cahill (Amy) of Maxwell, NE; and his sisters, Kathy Cahill of Fremont, NE, Norma Cahill of Genoa, NE and Mary Jane Thulin of Fremont, NE. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren…1 on the way, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
