He was predeceased by: his parents, H. L. Wurtz and Josephine Wurtz (Lindburg); his sisters, Barbara Kohl (Bill), Arlyce Smeltzer (Francis) and Ruth Douglas (Don); and his sister-in-law Marlene Douglas (Bill).
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Wurtz of Grand Island; his children, Jeffrey Wurtz (Cindy) of Clarks, Julie Van Pelt (Daryl) of Clarks, Janet Beck (Tim) of Benedict and Jolene Rieken (Robert) of Osceola; and his siblings-in-law, Gary Morris (Elaine) of Waverly, Dale Hogan (Jan) of Lincoln and Floydene Brown of Hershey. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Clarks Methodist Church or VFW 4832.
