He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hansen and Anna Hansen (Elmquist). He is survived by: his wife Susan Ann Milton; his children, Mike (Joan) of Chappell and Kim Hlava (Bruce) of New York; his grandchildren, Zach Hansen (Jena), Ben Hansen (Sarah), Patrick Hansen and Kaycee Hlava; and his great grandchildren, Ladd, June and Harlow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Berea Lutheran Church (2874 NE-27, Chappell, NE 69129).

Memorials can be made to the Berea Lutheran Church or the Chappell Volunteer Fire Department.
