He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Mattern and Hazel Mattern (Burgess); and his grandparents, Harry and Anna Burgess. He is survived by: his sisters, Patricia Van Winkle and Judith Hearn; his wife Maxine Ackles; his pet Matti; and his uncle Lodge. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
