He was predeceased by: his father Marsden Peterson; his grandparents, Ben, Gladys Peterson, Boyd and Sally Nystrom; his stepgrandparents, Harald and Hazel Martens; and his cousin Greg Boltz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to East Point Horspice and First Baptist Church.
