He was predeceased by: his father Dale Gering; his brothers, Chuck and Doug; his brother-in-law Tim Heiting; and his nieces, Nikki and Kami Koinzan.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Pieper; his children, Megan (Brian Edwards), Marcus Gering, Mia Hogins (Elijah) and Macs Gering (Jessie); his grandchildren, Lucy, Henry Edwards, Charlotte, Amelia, Elena Hogins, Lucas, Vivian and Emma Gering; his mother Pat Gering of Hay Springs; and his siblings, Cretia Hadley (Dave), Cinda Koinzan (Dennis), Brad Gering (Debbie), Mike Gering (Jennifer), Lori McClaren (Tim) and Troy Gering (John Gribble).
