He was predeceased by: his parents, Arther W. Provance and Osie Prouty Provance; and his sisters, Bonnie and Sharon. He is survived by: his children, Valorie, Nanette and Michael; his wife Thelma; his children, Robert Cowan, Scott Swanson and Dawn Provance; his grandchildren, Chad Cowan, Jeremy Cowan, Stephanie, Aaron Roach, Paige Swanson, Payton Swanson and Xander Provance; and his great grandchildren, Brennya, Brianna, Adrian and Blake.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department.
