He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Peterson Hald Sr. and Sara Mercedes Newman Hald; his daughter Kristena Casteel; his son-in-law James Casteel; his great grandchild Ellie Kling; his siblings, Lyle Hald, Guilford Montgomery, John Montgomery, Olivan Masek and Rose Willoughby; his niece Marilyn McDaniels; and his nephew David Willoughby.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Perkins of Chadron, NE; his daughters, Karla Elwess (Delwin) of Chadron, Karen Hald of Chadron, Kathleen Kling (Dave) of Ogallala and Kelly Drinkwalter (BJ) of Whitney; his grandchildren, Jennifer Elwess, Amanda Huber, Brandon Prelle, Rhonda Elwess, Cyle Kling (Holly), Dawson Kling (Kayleigh), Madison Kling, Lane Drinkwalter and Leo Drinkwalter; and his brother Arnold (Betty) of Hot Springs, SD. He is also survived by friends, especially time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
