He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Eilts and Bessie Eilts (Bellis); his former wife Marjorie Chancellor; his son Robert Eilts; his brother William Eilts; and his daughter-in-law Linda Eilts.

He is survived by: his son James Eilts (Maureen) of Prescott Valley, AZ. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
