He was predeceased by: his parents, James Virgil Rooney, Sr. and Marguerite Hogan Rooney; and his siblings, Mary of Virginia, Patrick (Peggy) and Joseph (Jean).
He is survived by: his sister Teresa; his wife Patricia Eileen Therese O'Brien; his daughters, Brenda Kathleen Rose, Ann Maureen Bernadette and Annie Bruner (Eric); his siblings, Margaret and John; his grandchildren, Brittany Bruner, Natalie Voithofer (Bryan), Garrett Paul Frazell (Carla), Christina Frazell and Josette Frazell; and his brother-in-law Daniel O'Brien (Rose). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
During his professional career, Paul rose the ranks in the banking industry from an examiner to the Regional Director of the FDIC, retiring in 1989 to pursue full-time, volunteer charity work.
