He was predeceased by: his mothers, Fern Ellis and C. Lucille Ellis (Culver); his wife Carolyn Downin; and his sisters, Patty Swanson and Betty Dack.
He is survived by: his sons, James Lee (Joann Ellis) of Edison, NE and Gale (Megan Ellis) of Denver, CO. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
