He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Alice (Patterson) and Lyle Kermitt Barnes, Sr.; his stepfather Bobby Larsen (Linda Barnes); his siblings, Everett, Lyle, Winnona Love and Marion Copper; and his brothers-in-law, Don Rice, Bill Copper and Jerry Nichelson.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Woods (Bill) of Ansley, Lori Bonde (Jamie) of Callaway, Dawnell Ford (Shannon Paul) of Wilcox, George Barnes (Sharron) of Litchfield and Terry Barnes of Ansley; his sister Lauretta Rice of Dunning; and his siblings-in-law, Patti Barnes of Broken Bow, Jan Barnes of Valentine, Myrna Nichelson of Chula Vista, CA and Mike Nichelson of Lexington. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
