He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Fernau and Monica Fernau (Salmen); his wife Marlene Schroetlin; his parents-in-law, Herman and Lucille Schroetlin; his siblings, Betty Hood and Tom Fernau; and his siblings-in-law, Tomi Fernau, Delbert Hood, Leland Richardson and Meredith Livingston.
He is survived by: his children, Danny Fernau (Lindy) of Norfolk, Renee Brewster (Scott) of Butte, Lori Norris (Jeff) of Omaha, Wesley Fernau of Farmington and David Hood of Plainview; his grandchildren, Jay Fernau, Jess Fernau (Shanna), Jenna Hesse (Joe), Ryan Brewster, Stefanie Pistulka (Brad), Britanie Brewster, Christopher Brewster (Kelli), Christian Norris, Zoey Norris, Aiden Norris, Chelsie Rocco (Seth), Autumn Fernau and Taylor Fernau; his great grandchildren, Brylie, Breckynn, Ben Pistulka, Olivia, Oliver Fernau, McKenzie, Macy, Carter Brewster, Dominic Fernau, Beck, Ricki, Maclyn and Hesse; and his siblings, Harold Fernau (Mary Lou), Sharon Voigt, Darlene Livingston, Kathy Hansen (Greg) and Judy Atkinson (Ronnie). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Butte Community Center (519 Thayer St, Butte, NE 68722). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to his family for future designation.
