It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lou Kraus (Brule, Nebraska), born in Holyoke, Colorado, who passed away on September 17, 2019, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Kraus and Barbara K. Kraus (Zieons); his brothers, William and Karl; and his stepdaughter Mary Premer.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Abbuhl; his children, Jeni Wehmeyer (Troy) of Ogallala, Alicia Patrick (Miguel) of Grant, John Kraus of Ogallala, Kathy Woodmancy (John) of Grant, Bernie Calderon (Joe) of El Paso, TX and Margaret Flowers of Ethete, WY; his grandchildren, Bryce, Breezy (Drake), Gabrielle (Justin), Rachel (Conner), Katie, Tessa (Nick), Joel, Kayla (Derek), Peyton, Jacob, Mary (Trent) and Chauncey; his great grandchildren, Lily, Everly and Tallulah; his siblings, Doug Kraus (Esther), Marty Ising, Marietta Johnson (Len), Tom Kraus (Janet), Gerry Kraus (Shari), Chris Kraus (Janice), Kay Meeks (George) and Pat Kraus (Joan); his sister-in-law Patti Kraus; his stepchildren, John Palic (Melinda), Roseanne Bauchert (Kipp), Julie Sloane (Otto) and Mike Premer; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Connor, Lauren, Lynsey, Riley, Tyler, Nadia and Surita (Michael); his nephew Tim Kraus of Brule; his close friend Luis Juarez (Heidi); and also, Diego of Ogallala, Rihanna of Ogallala and Marissa of Ogallala.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Lou's memory with the intent to fund a youth music scholarship.
