He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Leola (Golden) and Seeman Walker Custer; his former wife Lorna Schneede; his brothers, Delbert (Mary) and Tuff (Faye); his sister-in-law Janet Custer; his nieces, Connie Steger, Cathy Weinmeister, Linda Custer and Tammy Matthewson; and his nephew Rick Custer.
He is survived by: his wife Janelle Schulz (Jan); his children, Melanie Jordan (Shannon), Sherri Booth (Eric) and Brent Custer (Katie); his grandchildren, Sean Sterkel (Kylee), Destry Sterkel (Mandy), Emery, Molly, Brynn Custer, Dalton, Savannah Jordan, Shjon and Lukas Booth; his great grandchild Dax Sterkel, Jr.; and his siblings, Stan, Gary (Sue) and Molly Vogler (Bill).
As Covid caused him to guard his health, he did find happiness driving his golf cart to watch family play.
Memorials are suggested to Our Saviour Lutheran Church or the Custer County Foundation.
