He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Thurston Valentine and Geraldine Valentine (Watts); his grandparents, Ernest, Mary Luree Watts (Williams) and Jim; his former spouse Paul W. Peister; his wife Leah Peister (Javinar); his former wife Judy Peister (Schober); his children, Ann L. Stewart (Peister) and James E. Peister, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Sherri Peister (Morgan); his grandchildren, Jacob, Nakia, Morgan and Mitchell; and his sisters, Linda Conn (Peister) of Talent, OR and Deb Bliven (Peister) of Salem, OR.
Jim's family will be collecting donations for his chosen memorials to the Living Tree Memorial in Melham Park, a One Box Pheasant Hunt Benefit, with youth sportsman development projects, and to the Melham Hospital organization.
