He was predeceased by: his father Hubert "Hugh" Spanel (Broken Bow); his grandparents, Franz and Theresa Herman Spanel; his brother Jerry; his brothers-in-law, Ivan Coleman, Dick Graybeal and Darrell Myers; his nephew-in-law Gregg Rueschhoff; his nephew Bradley Darrell Myers; and his great-nephew Ryan Michael Stauffer (Jace Mitchell Coleman).
He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Ann Coleman, Leona Graybeal and Ruth Myers; and his sister-in-law Ginger Spanel.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. A wake was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St Anselm's Catholic Church (201 W Rolla Ave, Anselmo, NE 68813). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
