She was predeceased by: her parents, Irwin "Irv" Underberg and Leota Underberg; her grandfather Jay Auble; and her husband A. E. "Gene" Van Wie. She is survived by: her children, Scott Van Wie (Jana) of Grand Island and Karly Olson (Dan) of Omaha; her grandchildren, Kayla Van Wie, Krista Beel (Mason), Luc Van Wie, Elle Olson and Grey Olson; her brother Bill Underberg (Sue) of Michigan; her nephews, Jess Underberg of Arizona and Ross Underberg of Michigan; and her niece Heather Janov (Jay) of California.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to UNMC Parkinson's Research or Central Nebraska Humane Society.
