He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Petersen and Anna Loretta Petersen; his former wife Helen Louise Denton; his daughter Jeannie Louise; and his grandson Brian Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Simdorn of Boelus; his daughter LaDonna Miller; his son-in-law Kevin of Melbourne; his son Daniel Petersen; his daughter-in-law Debby of Bakersfield; his son Stanley Petersen; and his daughter-in-law Kathy of Pleasant Hill. He is also survived by five grand children and eleven great-grandchildren.
