With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Wachter of Bloomfield, Nebraska, born in Rosalie, Nebraska, who passed away on October 7, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Wachter and Hannah Wachter (Pedersen); his parents-in-law, Walter and Gertie Lile; his granddaughter Natalie Grace Elsberry; his siblings, Ione (Gunnar Nelsen) and Rollin (Jeanne Wachter); and his in-laws, Jim, Rosemary Lile, Robert, Carol Lile, Bill, Susan Lile, Veronica, Raymond Paustian and Marjorie Lee.
He is survived by: his daughter Katherine; his wife Susan; his children, Debra Stinson (Eric) of Norfolk, Kathy Wachter-Heinle of Lincoln, Connie Wagner (Bert) of Creighton, Diane Kumm (Dave) of Bloomfield and Danny Wachter (Kim) of Wausa; his grandchildren, Claire, Michael Stinson, Tian Heinle, Jake Wagner, Beth Stelling (Nick), Sam Elsberry (Shaleena), Gage, Cooper Kumm, Sadie Kalin (Aaron), Collin Wachter (Ashton) and Michelle Kroeger (Brandon); and his great grandchildren, Piper, Parker, Padden Stelling, Lane, Cabela Murray, Teegan Timm, Ripp Elsberry, Dusty, Harley Kalin, Haisley, Easton and Landon Wachter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Thabor Lutheran Church Steeple Fund.
