He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carlow and Christina Carlow (Nansen); his siblings, Everett Carlow, Clarence Carlow, Arietta Fredrichsen and Vernon "Duke" Carlow; and his brother-in-law Roger Hilfiker.
He is survived by: his daughter Malinda "Mindy"; his wife Arla Hilfiker of Bloomfield; his daughters, Monica Vandergriend of Lincoln, Mindy Miller (Bryon) of Elkhorn and Angela Carlow of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Blake Miller (Kristina), Seth, Drew Vandergriend, Noah and Avary Byers; his great grandchild Cameron Miller; and also, Larry Vandergriend, Dan Byers, Donna Blaschke, Ruth Harrington, Sherman Hilfiker and Diana Cain. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
