He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Sr. Schwinghamer and Ann Schwinghamer. He is survived by: his wife Susan Schwinghamer of Blair, NE; his children, Scott Schwinghamer (Amy) of Henderson, NV, Kim Carlberg (Kent) of Omaha, NE, Jill Dodds (Cameron) of Blair and Stephanie Clark (Shane) of Bellevue, NE; his siblings, Ruth Sadlosky of Grand Rapids, MN, Betty Saunders of Minneapolis, MN, Roger Schwinghamer of Sauk Center, MN, Joan Luttio (Jay) of Minneapolis, MN and Roseann Christensen (Michael) of Kalispell, MT; and his grandchildren, Rachael, Eli, Vivian, Samantha and Daniel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (215 N 13th St, Fort Calhoun, NE 68023). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery (14250 Schram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138).
