Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Ruth Joan Rasmussen of Blair, Nebraska, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away at the age of 90, on August 1, 2023. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Madsen and Agnes Madsen (Friberg); her brother Howard Madsen; and her husband Duane Rasmussen. She is survived by: her sons, David Rasmussen (Mary) of Blair and Scott Rasmussen (Colleen) of Omaha; her grandchildren, Sophie, Bill, Jim, Maggie, Daniel, Sean and Jack; her great grandchildren, Rosie, Teddy, Nora, Lily, Luke, Tessa, Emmett and Oliver; and her sister Donna Madsen of Omaha.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials directed to the Danish American Archive and Library in Blair.
