He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Shanks and Juanita Shanks; and his brother-in-law John "Jake" Andreasen. He is survived by: his wife Mary Andreasen; his daughters, Anna Christensen (Aaron) and Katie McIntosh (Troy); his grandchildren, Lauren, Ava, Ella, Morgan and River; his sisters, Kelly Kuhns (Scott) and Cynthia Miller; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Andreasen, Diane Wigg, Jane Swain (Michael) and Dan Andreasen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
