He was predeceased by: his parents, George Johnson and Helen Johnson (Schreiter); his son J. P. Johnson; and his sister Darlene Fetters. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Johnson of Bertrand; his daughter Cathy Watson (Brett) of Lexington, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Payton, Emmett and Logan Watson; and his brothers-in-law, Floyd Fetters of Holdrege, Don Beiriger (Pat) of Norfolk, Nebraska and John Beiriger (Linda) of Hastings, Nebraska. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial has been established in Ernie's honor, and kindly suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
