It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrel A Lavene of Bertrand, Nebraska, born in Lexington, Nebraska, who passed away on May 13, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Lavene and Dorothy Lavene (Bonser); his parents-in-law, Leslie and Esther Phillippi; and his siblings-in-law, Janice Gulden, JoAnn Phillippi, Sharon Phillippi, Daryn Gulden, Don Phillippi and Robert Phillippi.
He is survived by: his wife Veronica Lavene of Bertrand; his children, Deanna (Tom Priefert) of Valparaiso, Troy Lavene (Nekol) of Bertrand and Vicki (Matt Peterson) of Bertrand; his foster son Justin Vojta of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Hannah (Aaron Johnston), Emily Priefert, Katelyn Priefert, Dillon, Meagan, Grace Straight, Mariah (Travis Kuck), Mattison (Wyatt Anderson) and Miles Peterson; his great grandchildren, Rikyn, Baby Kuck, Saylah Johnston and Baby Anderson; his siblings, Sharon Kreutzer (Marlo) of Funk, Nebraska, Ron Lavene (Sharon) of Fairfield, Nebraska, Kent Lavene (Frank) of Omaha, Nebraska and Nancy Fowler (Rich) of Lincoln, Nebraska; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Phillippi of Lexington and Boyd Phillippi of Cozad, Nebraska. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Due to health concerns, regarding the COVID-19 pandemic; the Lavene family sincerely encourages each person to make their decision whether to attend Darrel's visitation and memorial service, based on the best interest of your health, and that of your community.
A memorial has been established in Darrel's honor, and kindly suggested to the family.
