He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Herman Tiedje and Kate Tiedje (Sass); his wife Mary Ann Holling; and his siblings, LeRoy and Lois.

He is survived by: his daughters, Melanie (Neil Ohms) and Melissa (Mike Burk); his grandchildren, Daniel Ohms, Matt Burk (Courtney), Nathan Ohms and Mackenzie Burk (Brendan); his great grandchild Henry Burk; and his siblings, Evelyn Novotny, Bunny Holling, Reverend Ronald (Judith Holling) and Jean Tiedje. He is also survived by cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.
