With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bertie F Stroup of Benkelman, Nebraska, born in Parks, Nebraska, who passed away on October 17, 2021 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard Loice Lawson and Clara Priest Lawson; her parents-in-law, Albert and Nellie Stroup; her siblings, Marvin Lawson (Barbra), Raymond Lawson, June Golding (Don) and Charlie Lawson (Diane); her husband Harold Stroup; her son Lyle Stroup (Sher); and her grandsons, Kevin Jensen and Heath Swigert.

She is survived by: her granddaughter Emilee; her daughters, Virginia Jensen (Elwin) of Texas and Cindy Swigert of Benkelman, NE.; her grandchildren, Laurie Robbins (David) of Benkelman, NE., Keith Jensen of Benkelman, NE. and Alisha Shapley (Roy) of Benkelman, NE.; her stepgrandchildren, Jamie Ham Baggs (Dana), Jeff Ham (Diane) and Jodi Ham Custer (Shelley Leitner) of Omaha, NE.; her great grandchildren, Clara Russell of Benkelman, NE., Jaclyn Russell of Benkelman, NE., Katlyn of Benkelman, NE., Lynae of Benkelman, NE., Julia of Benkelman, NE., Jordan Swigert of Benkelman, NE., Roy (Trip) of Benkelman, NE., Zachary of Benkelman, NE., AnnaLee of Benkelman, NE., Olivya of Benkelman, NE., Zaylee Shapley of Benkelman, NE. and Abbigail Swigert-Burgess of Benkelman, NE.; her stepgreat-grandsons, AJ and Bryce Baggs; her great great grandchildren, Rikki Robbins, Sophiya, Carolyne Meyers and Liliegh Puga; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Lawson (Raymond).

A memorial has been established in Bertie's memory to the Swigert family for a future designation.
