He was predeceased by: his wife Madeline; and his sons, David and Richard. He is survived by: his children, Madeline "Mitzie" Bogacz, Sandra Bollinger (Butch), Salvador Savala, Jr., Lydia Lewis (Derwin), Theresa Roberts (Christopher), Rachel Mares, Yolanda Stone (Greg) and John Savala (Connie); and his sisters, Mary Lou Cobb and Beatrice Guillen. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
