He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gengel and Evelyn Gengel. He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his daughter Erika Gengel (Jeremiah McCall); his grandchildren, Jayda, Jayla, Jennifer and Jeremiah; and his brothers, Mark Gengel (Kelly), John Gengel (Cindy) and Phil Gengel (Marcia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials will be directed by the family.
