He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Helen; his children, Stanley Spurgeon (Irene), Steve Spurgeon (Karen), Scott Spurgoen (Krista) and Sonji Giraud (Loïc); his sisters, Ruth Rice and Evalois Johnson (Robert); and his siblings-in-law, Wilma Dillard, Rebecca Durrah (Ivey) and James Ferguson (Naomi). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and good friends.
