He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kowal and Victoria Kowal (Cebula); his son Garrett Paul; his grandson Paul Garrett; and his siblings, Michael, John, Joseph, Thaddeus, Anthony, Edward and Anna, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Lorrene Catherine "Lorry" Vampola; his sons, Gary, Craig (Lori) and Scott (Julie); his grandchildren, Kevin (Kelly), Patrick, Alana, Michael, Matthew, Luke, Zachary, John and Wright; his great grandchildren, Nolan, Evelyn and Natalie; his brothers, Dr. Frank and Richard (Phyllis); and his siblings-in-law, Joan, Bernardette Kowal and Al Vampola. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
