He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Denton; his parents, Otto T. Denton and Odell Smith Denton; his stepfather Harvey Guynn; and his brother Gerald Denton (Jerry).

He is survived by: his sons, Patrick Denton (Kristine) and Daniel Denton (Holly); and his grandsons, Josh, Zach, Garrett and Gavin.
