Gilbert left this world on February 24, 2025 at the age of 98, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Gilbert may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gilbert touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward Hill and Dora Hill (Ormesher); and his sister Carolyn Mesher. He is survived by: his former spouse Ardyce Barnett; his wife Nancy Hill of Omaha; his children, Pam Hamilton (Gary), David Hill (Jeannie) and Dennis Hill (Mary); and his stepchildren, Pat Fabulous, Dawn Ellis and Jim Ellis. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and numerous great children.
He has also requested that no flowers be purchased and that the money and any memorials be given to your church or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
