He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann; his parents, Paul Henry Schonert and Lola Ruth Wells; his children, Donna Ann and John Henry; his granddaughter Christine Lee Schonert; his great grandchild Dominic Korbin Aulner-Mancilla; and his siblings, Orville "Bud" Schonert, Mary Frances Stockwell, Betty Pascua, Lola Bender, Lois Jean Martinson and Linda Rogers.
He is survived by: his children, Terri Aulner (Albert), Steven Schonert (Laurie), Franklin Schonert (Vikki) and Mary Pacheco (David); and his brothers, James and Robert Schonert. He is also survived by sister Barbara Lake; many nieces and nephews.
